  About the Author

Terry Brooks was born 1 August 1944 in Illinois state USA. He ended his undergraduate degree from Hamilton College, Clinton, New York, where he majored in English Literature, and his graduate degree from the School of Laws at Washington University in Lexington, Virginia state.

Terry Brooks has been a writer since early days in High School. His the first novel, The Sword of Shannara was published in 1977. It would become the first work of fiction ever to appear on the New York Times Trade Paperback Bestseller List, where it would remain there for more than five months. Since he publishing about 16 books.

Well, the greatest World, created by Brooks, is the Land of Shannara. This world is Tolkien-based. The "Shannara" cycle including about 8 books. I guess, the first book, the Sword of Shannara was really bad and was bad copy of Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. There you can see same characters with Tolkien's book as Allanon=Gandalf, Shea=Frodo, Brona=Sauron etc. Also all these elves, dwarves, trolls and nazguls. However, the latest books of Brooks were more good, than earlest. I suppose, the Song of Shannara and latest the Scions of Shannara were more and more well, than the Sword.

I knew, existed the well-looked computer RPG game, based from Shannara cycle. The game is really good, and scenario of this game is between second and third Shannara books.

Here the bibliography of Terry Brooks:
