  About the Author

David Eddings was born on July 7, 1931, in Spokane, Washington D.S. He was married to Judith Leigh Schall on October 27, 1962. David Eddings worked for some time as a sales clerk at Boeing Co. He has also worked as an english teacher at university. David Eddings served in the U.S. Army during the years 1954-1956 (Corean War). He made his writing debut in 1973 with the book 'High Hunt'. In 1982 the first book of 'The Belgariad' was published by Del Rey and became a big success. There are two great fantasy worlds designed by David Eddings- The Belgariad (12 books) and The Elenium (6 books). Their (David & Leigh) latest book is named 'Polgara the Sorceress' (1998). The illustrated guide of the Belgariad World called Rivan Codex, was also published in 1998.

I guess, the books of Dave Eddings in general are some of the better ones in the fantasy genre. Born from medieval novels, these amazing books feature light humor and well designed worlds. I think, these Worlds - are really worlds of mine! ;-)
